let's meet danny...

Meet Daniel Newell – better known as Direct Danny.  After spending six years in Australia, Danny rejoined Levland Ltd in September 2023, and for Simon and Helen, it feels like he was never away!

Danny started his career with us as an apprentice electrician in 2008, earning his City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in electrical installations before moving into a full-time role.  Later, he spent nearly three years as a self-employed electrician before embarking on his Australian adventure, where he worked in the air conditioning industry and maintenance management.

Danny recently traded his jet ski for a guitar and made his way back to the UK, choosing to follow his passion for electrical and technology installation…back to braving Britain’s famously unpredictable weather!

Danny’s infamous no-nonsense approach, straight-talking nature, competitive spirit, and dedication to getting things right first time have earned him his Direct Danny nickname. He also happens to be a meticulous perfectionist who likes everything in its place.  When he’s not working, you’ll find him walking, camping, driving, playing guitar, or enjoying a well-earned pint at the pub.

A die-hard rock fan, Danny’s playlist features ZZ Top and AC/DC, but his true fuel is a proper cup of tea.  He’s happiest with a mug in one hand and a screwdriver in the other – provided no one misuses the screwdriver as a lever.  He takes tool care seriously and isn’t shy about setting people straight!

As Automation & Electrical Engineer, Danny is responsible for designing, installing, and testing all areas of technology described on our website.  His role blends the tried and tested with the not tried, not tested, making it both dynamic and challenging.

While Danny may have a reputation for the occasional moan, he’s an invaluable team player with a strong work ethic.  His ultimate satisfaction comes from delivering a high-quality job to customers – always with a smile!
